SNOWY    


CHAPTER 1

It was long ago since Snowy the parakeet got separated from his brother Aqua, and his sister Oak. The day they parted was when their owner, Richard, had his dad Jun clean the cage when whoosh, the three birds took off into the sky. After that, Richard cried and cried.  Snowy felt pity for him, but he also had a part of himself that said, 'freedom!' and that was that.  Since Snowy was the youngest of the three, he just learned to fly.  Snowy wandered about, searching for food.  Just when Snowy nearly starved to death, something that looked like a fish mouth caught his eye.  Snowy flipped it over and it was a half acorn.  The acorn was hollow but filled with snow. After Snowy emptied the snow, he found a piece of writing that said:

When the first snow falls, a flurry that reflects one's sadness will shine, The body will weep, and the flurry will burn its image in its victim's heart. Do not fear the scenario, do not believe it is real. If that person will take it for real, he or she will die on the spot. If the victim overcomes the sadness, he will have the power to control the cold.
Yours truly, Kahoot.

Now, Snowy didn't understand who is this "Kahoot", but he waited until the first snow came.

CHAPTER 2

So far, Snowy has read the letter from Kahoot, yadayada, but this is Kahoot's story. "I hope Snowy protects himself from the flake. Oh, dear." said Kahoot.  Kahoot is an owl, who has a very pessimistic attitude.  It was a very bleak time in his tree house, when suddenly an oracle burst into his room. "What happened?" asked Kahoot. "I had a vision! This white parakeet, he went in the open snow!"  "Oh, my, that must be Snowy!" thought  Kahoot. "I must watch very carefully!"

CHAPTER 3

The wind howled about in Snowy's ears, making him shiver.  Still, Snowy kept on going.   A faint but visible flash occurred in the distance.  Snowy took off into the air, even when the screaming wind seemed to say, 'turn back! it's too dangerous!', and when the wind battered his wings. Finally, the light seemed to engulf him. Snowy thought he was falling into the void, but then the world around him cleared.  What he saw was a lone, dark graveyard.  What he was facing was the graves of Oak and Aqua.  Snowy started to weep, but suddenly he remembered what Kahoot had said in the letter.  He wiped his tears away and shouted, "Whoever is controlling these visions, I tell you, I don't think they're real!!"  Just then,  snow settled down and the horrible image vanished.

"Certainly I must gained the power to control the cold!" exclaimed  Snowy. "Yes you have," said a shadow.

CHAPTER 4

The shadow stepped out of the darkness. Snowy spun around and asked, "Who are you?" "You may as well be wondering that. I am Kahoot." said Kahoot. "You mean you're the one who wrote the letter in the acorn with the snow?"  "Yes."                                                                                                                                                                        

                                                     Aqua                             

Chapter 1

 

Aqua never experienced such loneliness before. He flew all the way to Normandy, France to seek fresh water to learn how to swim to be taught by geese. Unfortunately, the geese had migrated south to warm up, so he had to return to the U.S.A.  A well known monk parrot was willing to teach him how to swim, because Aqua was a blue parakeet, a relative to the monk parrot. The monk parrot was green, with a red breast. Do you wonder why should a parrot swim?   This is FICTION, my dear friends, this is fiction. Anyway, the monk parrot's name is Shracaw.  However, Shracaw wanted one birdseed a day of swimming lessons.   Now, since Aqua had very little food left, so he reluctantly gave up a seed a day.  Aqua eventually began to swim, and get very good at it.  Soon, Aqua would finish his swimming lessons, and he would swim ten feet.  Shracaw decided to invite Kahoot over to see the test. You see, Shracaw is a very old friend of Kahoot's.  

Chapter 2

Kahoot only had one friend that he could talk to, which was Snowy, so Kahoot brought Snowy along to see Shracaw. Kahoot had already taught Snowy how to fly, so Snowy had no problem going airborne in the harsh winds.  Once they got there, to Snowy's surprise, his brother was there. [Aqua is Snowy's brother because they were in the same cage before they got separated.]   "Oh, Kahoot!  How nice to see you.  Aqua is just doing his ten foot test.  You could watch him speed along the river bank." said Shracaw. Aqua swam the ten feet, five feet forward, five feet the other way. Snowy was so happy for his brother that white, puffy sleet came down. Aqua stood there, floating in the water, breathless.  He wasn't astonished because he swam ten feet, it is because that droplets of water detached from the river and had frozen there. This is the work of ice and water. Snowy realized that emotion and how hard you focus is futile to how powerful your powers are and that the cold he created also froze time.

Suddenly, the world blacked out.

When Aqua awoke, he was on one side of a canyon with Snowy while Kahoot and Shracaw were on the other, all of them chained to the rocky walls. Boom! Boom! Boom! A mutant stag beetle was charging after them! Kahoot melted the steel shackles with his fire. Oh, did you know that Kahoot was the bearer of the power of fire? And that Shracaw was the master of the earth element? Kahoot melted the chains that held Shracaw and Aqua. Since Snowy could break the shackles himself, Kahoot left him alone. Since it just rained, Snowy froze any moisture that seeped in to the iron. The ice kept expanding and finally, the steel burst open. Snowy froze the water that remained outside the chains and hurled the frozen shards of steel at the beast. Still, the attacks bounced harmlessly off the steel plates that covered the mutant. Shracaw had an idea. He lifted sharp stones out of the cliffs and threw them at the bug's legs, immobilizing it. Next, Kahoot seared it's eyes, making it blind. Then, Aqua threw water down it's throat, choking the bug. Finally, Snowy sent down a storm of hail, denting the steel and freezing the water so that it will be lodged forever in the giant's lungs. The team set out to find Snowy's and Aqua's sister, Oak.
